Today, Ubisoft released the world premiere trailer of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Not only did they show us the trailer, but they gave us the release date, which is November 15th, 2024, on PS5/PC/Xbox Series X/S
Enter the captivating and ever-changing world of feudal Japan. The unification of Japan is a fascinating period to explore and an occasion to meet legendary historical figures such as Oda Nobunaga or Akechi Mishuhide. As with Assassin's Creed Mirage, Ubsifot used external experts, historians, consultants and internal co-workers to create the world of Osaka and Tokyo.
Become a Shinobi assassin and a legendary Samurai as Assassin's Creed Shadows has two protagonists. Yasuke and Naoe offer completely different gameplay experiences. Using two different protagonists will also offer two different perspectives on this troubled period of Japan.
Naoe will allow players more stealth experience, while Yasuke will offer us the parry close combat.
Ubisoft Quebec is the development team working on this major Assassin's Creed franchise title. With their experience on Assassin's Creed, their savoir-faire and the support of the Codev studio, we should be in for another great addition to the franchise.
Naoe is the Assassin Shinobi. She comes from the remote mountainous province of
Iga in Japan is the birthplace of the shinobi. Her father, Fujibayashi Nagato, trained her to
fight and tried to instill in her the values of valour, wisdom and benevolence, with varying
degrees of success.
These values are challenged when the great and brutal daimyo, Oda Nobunaga, invades
their home. Fujibayashi Nagato also instills in her a hatred for this tyrant – the antithesis
of everything they stand for.
Yasuke is the iconic Samurai. He was a real person who was likely born in
Mozambique, taken by the Portuguese as a child slave, raised and trained as a warrior,
and eventually came to Japan in the service of Jesuit missionaries.
The first African Oda Nobunaga encountered Yasuke impressed the great daimyo with
his physical prowess, artistic appreciation, and ability to speak Japanese. Nobunaga, in
turn, made Yasuke a samurai in his service.
In the story, Yasuke had other reasons for coming to Japan, tied to the narrative of the
game.
Assassin's Creed Shadows releases on November 15th, 2024 and is already now my most anticiapted game for the year. Let us know in the comments what you think of the trailer.
