Within 24 hours of launch, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 became the fastest-selling PlayStation Studio Game in PlayStation history. In the first 24 hours, they sold 2.5 million copies worldwide, making this also the fastest-selling title from Insomniac Games.

"Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is Insomniac Games' third installment in the franchise for PlayStation. Built from the ground up to take advantage of the unique features of PlayStation 5, the goal was to massively build off the action, storylines, and features from the first two games.
"With an epic storyline, two playable superheroes, a visually stunning Marvel's New York, and so much more, this is a game you can get lost in for hours. On behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, I want to say thank you to the fans - we truly hope you are enjoying your time playing as Peter and Miles in this amazing adventure."
Considering this game is PS5 only, this was no small feat, knocking out of the top spot held by 2022's God of War Ragnarok, which launched on PS4 and PS5. God of War Ragnarok did sell 5 million copies in one week, so it remains to be seen if Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will also break that record.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is currently sitting at a 91 Metacritic, so I guess it will. The last official sales numbers we saw were in July of 2023, when it was reported that Sony had sold 40 million PS5s. The PS5 remains month after month one, if not the top-selling console, so they have sold more than 40 million.
