PlayStation announced today via the PlayStation Blog that players will soon have a new way to invite friends to play games. In the coming months, players can generate shareable links to invite their friends to a multiplayer session. Players can create those links on their PS5 console and using the PlayStation App on their mobile device.
By opening the link, the recipient can hop into your multiplayer session even if they aren’t already friends with you on PlayStationaren'trk.
The new feature doesn't replace existing methods of inviting but is another way to do so. Users will also have a unique widget to use in Discord, which can show their multiplayer status and let people know if they're still able to join their session.
PlayStation will also allow players to share their user profiles via text, making it easier to add friends to your list.
All of this is coming in the next couple of months, and I will make sure to keep you updated on the launch date.
