The Steam Deck is back...in OLED form!
Yesterday Valve announced the Steam Deck OLED will be coming to Valve store fronts very soon. Given the nature of handhelds, it was only a matter of time before Valve announced a major revision to their hardware.
Much like the Nintendo Switch OLED, the Steam Deck OLED isn't the second version of the Steam Deck, but more of a revision from the original model.
The biggest draw to the OLED version of the Steam Deck is the screen. It is very apparent looking at the side-by-side comparisons that the OLED version gives you a brighter, clearer screen. But that isn't all! The Steam Deck OLED boasts a 7.4in diagonal display (.4 inches more than the original version), Wi-fi 6 (original version has Wi-fi 5) and a 50W battery (compared to the original's 40W) that Valve estimates will give you 3-12 hours of gaming in a single charge.
Here is a comparison chart from Valve:
The Steam Deck OLED is slated to be available on November 16th.
